If you haven’t taken a moment to thank your favorite nurse this week for all of the hard work they do every day, keep in mind that National Nurses Week comes to an end this upcoming Monday, May 12th. When you really stop to think about it, you’ll realize that very often, nurses don’t get the praise and recognition that they deserve. Though we should be appreciative of all that they do each day of the year, this particular week is pretty special to them, and you shouldn’t just let it slip by!
Though this particular holiday week, International Nurses Day in particular (which lands on May 12th), was never made official, it definitely caught on and gained recognition all over the country back in 1953. It was then that Dorothy Sutherland of the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare sent a formal proposal for the holiday to President Eisenhower. Despite this, National Nurses Week has been celebrated ever since.
Looking to make a small gesture to acknowledge the contributions and commitment the nurse in your life has made to the healthcare system? Why not have a gorgeous bouquet of flowers delivered to them? Here at Carriage Flowers, we have a wide selection of arrangements and bouquets that would make the perfect gift for that deserving recipient. Plus, if the nurse in your life also happens to be a loving mother, your Nurses Week flowers can even double as an amazing Mother’s Day gift!
Don’t waste any more time; order your bouquet today before the weekend comes to an end and remember, it doesn’t have to be National Nurses Week for you to show your appreciation for your scrubs-wearing loved one!
